Sophie the rocket mechanic

This was very fun to play, at it works well for being your first ever game. One thing I wanted to mention is that their wasn't anything to tell me how to wall jump, which is needed in one of the areas. But for anyone stuck, to wall jump you need to be against a wall, hold the jump key and then look the other way to wall jump.

The art style looked amazing, and I loved the silly things added all over. One thing I want to suggest, as a game developer myself, is that you could add an easier way to interact with the people. Instead of having multiple keys to interact with different people. You can create a hit-box around the people, made invisible or put behind the background layer so it can't be seen by the player. Then make a line of code that checks if player is touching hit-box of "NPC 1" and key "A" pressed. Then it will show the dialog of "NPC 1". I bring this up because pressing one of these keys in the game causes the code to show the dialog even when the player is not near the NPC.

Another thing I wanted to point out is the story segments. Instead of having the player click next after each one. Instead, have them switch after 4 or 5 seconds. Then have the player click next on the last one, letting them know that they will be playing again. Another thing is that the text is a bit hard to read in the game play segments. I suggest making the text a bit bigger in the future so it's easier for players to read.

But other than that, I think the game was quiet enjoyable. The story was a bit long in some cases, and wish that the game was a bit longer. If you plan on making another game in the future, then I'll wish you luck on making it!

Thank you for this !! Another tip for anyone reading: if you cant walljump in the red area where its needed, pressing 1 or 2 will just teleport u to the caves. and yes i should have added a tutorial to walljump. I may do this when i do some tiny fixes every now and then, though reuploading it everywhere is a hassle and im not a proffessional or anything TvT
Alot of these are great points which i myself already considered alot! Since this game was actually made throughout 2024 and came out 6 months ago, ive already improved on some of these.
Regarding the text: Yes i know its small on here, but in full screen (which is what the game was made for) its pretty neat to me, its just that the newgrounds version suffers. I may think about fixing some of these, but i also kinda want this game to be a lil bit wacky and broken, because it was my first, and i see them as beginners thingies. It feels like messing with an ancient time capsule if i go and perfect it now if you get what I mean.

on the story: this is a prologue for a longer story! there WILL be more and this is also why its short for now. however im currently working on a graphic novel unrelated to this, so for now this is all we'll have of this specific story. but im always cooking new ideas heh

I had a fun time reading this, you obviously payed attention and i give props for that.
